Ducati Test - Phillip Island

Ducati´s MotoGP pairing of Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss finished their second day of tests at the Australian Phillip Island circuit today after having rested yesterday. This is the team´s first test outside of Europe and they rode in breezy conditions of around 25ºC, with both of them now focusing on development of the V4 engine featuring the conventional firing order.

Capirossi did 78 laps on race tyres, and tested a new fuel tank, which aims to solve the problems they have found controlling the front end of the `Desmosedici´. Additionally the modifications were hoped to improve the braking efficiency on MotoGP´s latest entrant. The Italian posted a best time of 1´32.3, just one tenth better than Bayliss, who in turn tested different chassis configurations and more fuel tanks over 89 laps of the track he knows particularly well, and at which he will be hoping for great home support next season. Ducati tests will conclude tomorrow.
